In Qatar a great old Indian Pearl carpet sold for a highest price of $5.5 million. This piece was not an average carpet but it was made using thousands of small pieces of pearls, rubies diamonds and sapphires on silk base. Last year a Persian silk carpet was sold for 4.5 million dollars.
This very excellent nice carpet was commissioned by Maharaja of Baroda an Indian State. This carpet was specially made to gift to tomb of Mohemmad in Medina the greatest place for Muslims. But due to unfortunate death of Maharajah this carpet could not sent to Medina and sold now. This point is most valuable which indicate the love, honour and deep respect of another’s religion by Indians.
