Type of carpet fibers-We sould know

Hi friends, Let us know about fibers being used in most of carpets. Every one related carpet such as carpet consumer, carpet manufacture, carpet seller and also carpet exporters. The carpet which provide a luxurious look and soft feel to our floors being made using one or more of the following fibers.

Wool
Wool is a very popular fiber being used in carpet manufacturing for centuries. Wool fiber has the stain resistance quality, luxurious look and soft touch. But it is more expensive than synthetic fivers. Semi worsted New Zealand wool known as high quality wool. The carpet made from N.Z. Wool look very shiny and soft.

Silk
Silk is very nice fiber. It is a strong fiber but very thin. As it is very strong and thin fiber so extremely high quality carpets are being made using these fibers. The carpets made from these fibers looks different colored from different angles. Silk used carpets have extra high durability. This fiber type is most expensive also. These carpets are being made in Kashmir mostly.

Acrylic
Acrylic is a synthetic fiber. It looks and feels like wool but its cost is less than wool. These type of fibers are resistant of strain, moisture crushing and static electricity. Durability of these fibers are not high so cannot be used on high traffic places.

Nylon
Nylon is also a man invented fiber. It is very popular due to its quality of durability and static free. It may be used at all type of traffic places. Nylon may be permanently dyed after carpet made.

Olefin
This synthetic fiber is most popular fiber being used to produce loop piled and cut piled carpets after Nylon. Its cost is also low than nylon. It resists mildew and moisture. Carpets of Olefin (Polypropyline) are suitable indoor and outdoor use.

Blends
Blends fibers are mixture of nylons and olefins. So these fibers shows characteristics both type of fibers.


Polyester
Polyester carpets are cheaper than nylon carpets. Carpets made by these fibers are easy to clean. This is a luxurious fiber. It is also a synthetic fiber. It looks as silk fibers but not strong and shiny as pure silk.
